Thanks... I kind of wanted 2 gig rams to run Vista. Most machines only have 1 gig and the cheaper ones < $700 have 512 megs and don't come with vista premium. I haven't check out the price of ram, but I figured getting it in the machine would be cheaper than adding it later....
I thought about a mac, but there is at least one application that doesn't run on it...so, I have to stick with Windows.

Thanks Scott... I wasn't aware that Lenvo was the old IBMs. Right now I have a 4.5 year old HP that is doing pretty well (I purchased well). It has a 1.6 ghz processor and 40 gig HD. Decided if I didn't get a new laptop soon my daughter wouldn't have any opportunity to use it before it died (She gets it when I get a new one).... I'll have to check out the lenovos...although I was leaning toward a Toshiba...now I wonder.
